Since 1972 Robert Amos has been involved in the writing, illustrating and publication of many books. The following books are currently in print:

 

Victoria Sketchbook is a delightful little book of the fresh watercolours by Victoria's "artist in residence". Robert Amos takes you on a walking tour of the charming city which he calls home, offering insights with his fluid brush as well as his writing. Its convenient format has made it an ideal gift for visitors and a wonderful souvenir of this very livable city by the sea.

Artist in Their Studios is a large-format full colour volume based on Amos's photocollages of the studios of 33 of the most important artists of Southern Vancouver Island. His unique insight as artist and author has resulted in a book which is a fascinating look at the working environments of legendary artists of this region. Forthcoming in Fall, 2009: Inside Chinatown is a remarkable look inside the oldest Chinatown in North America. For more than a decade Amos used his privileged access to the private club rooms of Victoria's Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association to create a unique document of photographs and large-scale photo collages. With his collaborator, Kileasa Wong, he was able to learn the history of these remarkable and varied societies and to publish the results in Chinese and English. This is sure to be come a landmark history of the Chinese in Canada..
