In 2007 David Peacock commissioned
Robert Amos to create the interior for his new, top-end restaurant,
the James Joyce Bistro, Victoria, B.C.
As both David and Robert are dedicated
students of the late works of Irish writer James Joyce, Peacock
suggested that Ulysses and Finnegans Wake would
be the theme. Amos went to work and created 15 tabletops, five
murals, two long bars and numerous paintings for the installation.
The result is a unique and compelling atmosphere - and the food
is very good!
Following are two tabletop designs,
and a mural.
