Robert Amos , born in Belleville, Ontario 1950. Since graduating from York University in Toronto, Amos has pursued a career in the arts. He was Assistant to the Director of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (1975-1980) and is art writer for the Victoria Times-Colonist newspaper, which has published his weekly column on art since 1986. He is a full-time professional artist.

2006 - featured artist at the Filberg Festival in Comox, British Columbia
on June 16, 2006 (known as Bloomsday) Robert Amos will present his James Joyce inspired paintings, calligraphy and pottery at the birthplace of Emily Carr, Canada's most important artist.
Robert Amos has a studio and gallery at his home. Open by appointment, it provides the perfect opportunity to view hundreds of his paintings and prints. Mr. Amos's paintings are found in the collections of the Art Gallery of Peel, the Maltwood Museum of the University of Victoria, and the Civic Collection of the City of Victoria.
